Art Against Art #6 Taslima Ahmed, Manuel Gnam (eds.) • Institutional critique wanted to challenge the absurdities of a class struggle that were totally unjustified based on arbitrary modes of exclusion e.g. gender, social status, etc. However if we were to critique institutions today – it would be that they are in actual fact gated communities protecting tiny warring tribes that harness salient AI trends. So now, the Sacklers and Warren Kanders are out but the Mnuchins are in. This has very little to do with high culture and much to do with the majority of the art world consisting of an aspirational haute bourgeoisie – a formation of self-chosen participants in a pecking order of incremental differences but overwhelming ideological similarities. • If progress is not what society wants, but its stagnation and pettiness then it is getting it in good measure. It is for those who continue to want something different in art, literature, film and culture to assertively make the arguments for its justification. • Contributers : Günter Erbe, Taslima Ahmed, Masato Fukushima, Michael Farin, A.S. Hamrah, Andrés Gómez Emilsson
